HttpUnit tests the public face of an application via the HTTP protocol.
 
 - Yes, it can test a JSF application.  No special support is required.
HttpUnit doesn't care what technology is used on the server as long as
it communicates via HTTP.
 - Yes, you need to be running the web container.  That's what
communicates via HTTP.
 - No, HttpUnit is not set up for testing mobile code delivered via HTTP
and intended to be run in the client browser.  Sometimes you can emulate
this, however.
