Unable to set select list option values

Hi,

 
   I'm using
form.getScriptableObject().setParameterValue( name,
value ) in order to set select option value. I'm not
getting any exception or error but it didn't set the
new select option value. 

   Please let me know if you need any code sample for
replicating the above problem. I actually debugged
through http unit api and I didn't find that it
actually sets this option value. I've changed the code
to set these option values and the problem got solved.
So, is it a bug or is there any other way to set
select options to different values. 

   Any example to set select options values would be
appreciated.
