Bye bye HttpUnit

It has been more than half a month, and I have not
seen a single posting to the HttpUnit mailing list,
nor any responses to my questions. I wonder if
HttpUnit is no longer being maintained.

It has been quite frustrating to me, trying to figure
some of the features of HttpUnit. Some classes in the
HttpUnit Javadoc are not clickable, making it
impossible to know how to use such classes. I have
finally reached a dead end with HttpUnit, as I am not
able to emulate clicking on an Html DIV tag to fire
off a javascript function from DIV's onclick
attribute.

In the meantime, I have come across an even better
testing tool called called HtmlUnit
http://htmlunit.sourceforge.net

It does pretty much the same things that HttpUnit does
in terms of emulating a web browser, but it seems to
have much better support for Html and javascript. And
their mailing list is very active. There are postings
to the mailing list on a daily basis, and they actualy
do answer your questions pretty fast, if you post them
to the list.

For anyone, experiencing problems with HttpUnit, I
suggest that they start taking a look at HtmlUnit.
