The current status is:
#  Bugs  : (152 open / 403 total)
# Support Requests : (0 open / 78 total)
# Patches : (20 open / 82 total)
# Feature Requests : (114 open / 192 total) 
It would be great to get all the open items looked thru 
and put them to a new status. At SourceForge there are 
tools to do that in a mass-action way if necessary. I am 
currently working on the patches and intend to do some 
of the bugs and feature requests. 

I agree that a new release would be good and that we 
could release more often. Given some 700 test cases I 
feel pretty confident that the release process is sound 
and even if there should be a glitch in a release that 
would not be too much of a problem since there a 
multiple stable releases available. 

To really be able to work IMHO you'd have to have 
committer rights as I do. Russell - what is necessary 
above that to do a release?
