JDK 1.4 problems

The JDK 1.4 problems seem to stem mostly from an older version of the org.w3c.dom objects packaged with the JDK. By placing the xmlParserAPIs.jar earlier in the classpath takes care of them. There are 5 problems in GoogleMapsExample of using undefined methods.
