Digest authentication in 1.7

Hi there,

I noticed in the release notes for 1.7:

"Added support for rudimentary (RFC 2109) digest authentication"

digest auth is RFC 2069 and I can't seem to find any references to  
digest auth in the javadocs for 1.7. Is digest auth supported?
