Wolfgang,
Thank you very much for this. I extracted your change from SVN and built a new jar. I discovered that the issue is not
actually with toLowerCase at all.
In the script, there is this statement:
navigator.vendor.toLowerCase();
The scripting engine was reporting an error for toLowerCase, presumably because vendor did not exist. When I added
getVendor to the Navigator class, the problem was resolved.
I verified this by removing the toLowerCase function that was added in the Window class.

there are quite a few built-in functions missing in the default JavaScript implementation of httpunit 1.7.
Adding functions is not too diffcult. Your case needs a

in JavaScript.java.
I'd appreciate to get some patches for this kind of Javascript additions- accompanied with JUnit tests like the one for the function above:
