Trying to look for a cause I turned debug on in the 
pseudoserver. And as for any good race condition - if 
you change the timing the problem is gone.
With debug on - no error.
This might be a tough one to look for. It might be 
simpler to go back a few revisions in our subversion 
archive to find a working version and then analyze the 
differences to find out what might be causing the change 
in behaviour.
