Javascript function for KeyPress?

Hi,

I'm new to this mailing list.
I'm developing a web page for links browser.
What I need is the DOM Documentation for keypress events.
In particular, I need to get this code working for links:

<html>
<body>
<form>
<input TYPE=text SIZE=30 NAME="T1" onKeyPress="alert(event.charCode)">
</form>
</body>
</html>

As you can see, the onKeyPress event is working and the alert does too; but he
cannot give the key code (for example, A = 33, etc...)

Any idea how to get this working?
