A bit over a year ago, I added several features to Links and vaguely posted them to this list: http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/links-list/2007-April/004690.html However, I never got around to fixing them up and submitting them for inclusion in a sane manner, and have just been using my hacked-up version myself for the past year. However, between getting fed up with it crashing a couple times a week, getting a couple personal requests for the patches in a more useful form, and the fact that it's summer and I have free time again, I'm looking at redoing my changes. This time, though, I'll try to do the the Right Way, and hopefully even get them included into the main distribution. As such, I have attached a set of three patches I worked up this morning implementing forward support. The first modifies the session history structure and binds forward to the "x" key (next to "z", which is back); the second adds a forward button in graphics mode next to the back button, and the third fixes up the file->history menu. They are available at http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu/~edanaher/links/ I hope that these are small enough and simple enough to be included; I also tried to follow the style of existing code as much as possible, and tried to fix up all affected code. Of course, I don't understand all of Links, so may have missed something, but my limited testing suggests that it works. Further, I intended to redo most of my modifications from last year again, including tabs, key bindings, "open with ...", and web shortcuts (e.g., "wp:links" to do a wikipedia search for links), and would love it if these could be also eventually be included. Otherwise, I am willing to maintain a forked version (similar to links-hacked, except hopefully more up to date). _______________________________________________ links-list mailing list [email protected] http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/links-list
