Request for Links form editing capabilities

I love links, although I use graphical environment I find links superior on web-based discussion boards. However editing messages is a pain when you have to delete a lot of text... There is a combination that will delete everything before cursor and one that deletes everything after cursor, but what would really be nice is keys that could be used to delete single word or line after cursor. That would speed up editing quotes in messages a LOT. Would this be possible...?
