The problem is not in how you're reaching the link in the bookmark file, 
it's in how you're adding the site to the bookmark file.

As Thorsten indicated (though in a way that made it look like part of your 
message, so you may have missed it): instead of pressing "l", try pressing 
"d".

You will then likely need to press enter.

That should solve your problem.

Remove the earlier bookmark you made (move cursor to it, press "r").
