Playing dot mkv files in LYNX?

Hi All: Seems almost all other audio-and-video file types I can launch 
LYNX-and-have them play with mpv. However, .mkv files seemingly will not 
launch, they act like I wanna download, even though they are already on my 
hard-drive. Thanks so much in advance for any tips.
