extremely long a/@href

Hi,

the search functionality on otwarchive sites like archiveofourown.org
or www.squidgeworld.org produces extremely long links, easily 2.5K or
longer. (These are produced by submitting a form.)

The page from that now contains 2.5K-long relative links:

<a rel="next" href="/tags/…

These have a totally empty status line and cannot be used,
with “Badly formed address” as error.

What is needed to make those work?
