garbage output on lynx.invisible-island.net

Good day,

When i run `lynx` with no arguments on Slackware64 15.0, it gives
garbage output.  It gives the same garbage output when i run
`lynx -display_charset=UTF-8`.

Any suggestions for further troubleshooting?
