Oh, I understood that statement.
I also provided chime a simple alternative.
If your lynx install has an associated editor, then when on the file name 
line, execute its equal  for cutting text.
For some Linux users that is either alt  u or alt k...I do this regularly.
At the NPR  website, and every other place where I want my own file name.
No  need to script anything, unless you do not use an editor.
