OK Thorsten, an answer as to why I would want to use Lynx in this way? Well, 
with a large collection of audio-and-video file, I like to browse them in Lynx, 
sometime tag them so I can move them to another sub-directory. Sure you can also 
do this in Midnight Commander, but I don't think those are numbered in "mc"
