That is funny, I log in using lynx several times a day, with my cookie 
saved 
without javascript.
In fact the site states at the top  that it will work without javascript 
in place.
I have a membership, but given  how long I read stories there  without 
one, I suspect  a personal configuration  factor.
You have of course requested help from support?
