Ok, let's go with it. I started playing around with the caveat and it 
started turning into a much bigger rewrite of the developer's manual in 
general... :) I think the idea of separating model from view needs to be 
much higher up and more prominent, not just under components that return 
values. I mean, we've got a dhandlers example that executes sql directly!

This needs to be done, but not for the 1.2x branch and not today. What 
you've got now is a good starting point.
