Apparently this test can be made to pass quite easily by adding an extra 
block around the call to $comp->run() inside Request->comp().

I was able to do this. See 05a-stack-corruption.t

Given that there is now a fix for this new corruption bug (in 1.34) that 
doesn't break the fix for the old bug, I'm planning to do a release 
tomorrow or Tuesday barring any objections.
