I'm not sure why someone would want to use [% %] instead of <% %>; but I for one wouldn't mind being able to use <?perl ?> (or, more generally, <?* something* ?>, where "*something*" can be specified by means of a Notation in the DTD's internal set) instead of <% %>. Admittedly, it's a few more characters to type; but it conforms to the standard xml syntax for Processing Instructions, which appeals to the purist in me. Of course, I'm not really talking "Mason" anymore at that point, since there's more to Mason than just embedding perl code in an HTML document.
