Display data using JSP

Hi,

i was wondering if it  was possible to display data that has been retrieved
bij controllers/handlers in the following manner:

<%=controllername.attribute%>

so lets say i have a controller called getClients with attribute Name.
Can i call <%=getClients.name%>

What is the most easiest way to display the data ?
Do i need to use the taglibs as mentioned in the friendbook example ?
