Exception on "maxTransforms set to x" links

I started playing with the friendbook-domify example and I'm getting the following exception when I click on the "maxTransforms set to 0" or "maxTransforms set to 1" links:
"org.apache.xml.utils.WrappedRuntimeException: The output format must have a '{http://xml.apache.org/xalan}content-handler' property!"

Any ideas?
