Hmmmm, not sure about this one.  Everyone seems pretty happy with log4j,
and nobody has yet asked to be able to use other logging mechanisms.
(At least for now) it doesn't seem like doing the search/replace and
adding the extra configuration complexity of commons-logging would be
worth it.

I was wondering why Maverick has a dependency on log4j instead of using
the commons logging package. Personally I prefer log4j to the JDK
logging api. I just feel that for a framework it would be nicer to
postpone the decission of which logging api to use for the users of the
framework. This is what you achieve when you use the commons logging
package.

 

What do you all think?
