G'day all, I am new to Migard/Midcom. I saw it reviewed well, I like the LAMP model so installed in on a Debian Sarge System. With some help from Piotras (thanks) I rebuilt the Apache 2 module and things work. I have spent a fair while working through the documentation and every time I getback to it I seem to understand more. However, I have to admit I am struggling to understand what it is and how to use it. I want to setup our company website with a CMS for the usual reasons. It is not highly complex or extremely dynamic. I am currently having difficult understanding how to go about this. I would love some help. The documentation is great but I seem to be having difficulty getting over the "understanding concepts" hump. Now I am confused re the discusion about the "old" Aegir. How do people use Midgard/Midcom to build and maintain a website? What is the process? What tools do you use? I dont understand how I create say a content page that allows a user to freely format it. What is the style for that? Currently I have fiddled around using Aegir to modify the root page but that is a long way from having a site managed under a CMS. Please forgive me if what I am stating/asking is plain obvious and already documented. I have tried to read what I can but it is quite possible I am dumb and ignorant of things I should know. I would appreciate any pointers and help that any one can offer. I ahve a deadline of end of May to get something working. Currently that seems impossible. Thanks for reading and I look forward to any help you can offer. --- Steve
