floating menu bug

I will almost certainly be wanting to use the floating menu again. On my Internet Explorer v 5.00.2614.3500 running on Win 98 I get very slow page loading on your sample with a floating menu: http://www.milonic.com/menusample10.php Once the page has loaded, then a reload is OK. But going to the page from your homepage, it may take 30 seconds or more. Then an IE message comes up: "A script on this pgae is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script." However, the problem only seems to happen if I go to that page FROM your homepage. If I close the browser down, and go direct to that page, there is not a problem. So it may be some bad interaction between the home page and the sample page? Sorry to be discouraging! Though if that is all it is, it is probably not an issue in normal use. I have no problem with my own floating menu on the old Milonic version on IE5. Incidentally, the ideal menu for me would be something like a left-hand floating menu which remains totally fixed (like a left-hand frame) without the wobble and movement of a floating menu, and so is always visible and available. eg http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/menus.html which works in NN but not IE. There do appear to be workrounds to do this for IE, which does not support 'position fixed', which are discussed at http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum83/560-3-15.htm though I have not tried them. If this is a practical cross-browser solution, and you incorporated this stuff into the Milonic menu and created a totally unmovable left (or right) menu, you would be on to a winner and way ahead of the competition. On any page which goes to any extent below the fold, an always visible menu is, in my view, a big bonus. Thanks as ever.
