compression?

When I save to file a ming-generated applet from within my web browser
and then I open it in ActionScript Viewer Demo (buraks.com), the movie
properties dialog reads "Compressed: No", althought the ming applet was
saved with $movie->save("<filename>", 9).

Does this mean compression may not work properly at this time in
ming-0.3a-dev or rather that browsers decompress ming applets anyway in
order to display them and save them to file uncompressed?
