Webboard: error with letter "c"

i have installed mnogosearch 3.2.40 for unix

to work with mysql 4.1.11 

but then searching russian words and if there is a letter 'c' it doesn't understand it as russian 'c'

error ocure: 



DB err: MySQL driver: #1267: Illegal mix of collations (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) and (latin1_swedish_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=' -





does anybody know what could it be?
