I don't know what sort or version of ispell files you use.

If I remember well I read somewhere here that you shouldn't use ispell hash files.

I simply downloaded the German ispell files from the mnogosearch server. They are plain ASCII, and they work as is. No need to compile anything or build any hash files or something like that.
