If anyone's handy with Illustrator or etc. my suggestion for a mod-pubsub
logo would be a pair of 'pilcrow' glyphs, arranged on top of one another,
arsey-versey, yin-yang style, if you can picture it -- the pilcrow is the
backwards 'P' employed as a universal printers mark for paragraph breaks,
hence serves as a widely recognizable emblem for 'publishing' in general.
By joining two pilcrows at the stem, head-to-toe (picture 'dP' backwards)
there would be, for anyone who cares to look, the graphic suggestion of a
dynamic, mutualistic inversion of the business-as-usual broadcast type of
publishing, with a parity between publishers and subscribers, clients and
servers. There's also the hint of an 'S' shape, to complement the hint of
a 'P' shape, for the 'Pub' and 'Sub' roles respectively. (Any resemblance
to the dollar sign is of course sheer wishful thinking on the part of the
viewer ...)
