For those of you keeping your cvs accounts up-to-date, do a cvs update on mod_pubsub/python_pubsub which will update a few of the files there. Thanks to the valiant efforts of Joyce, we were able to track down and remedy a memory leak due to not properly cleaning out expired events. I believe the updated changes will allow a person to run pubsub.py for days-to-weeks without memory issues. Joyce will verify this (or not!) as she watches the server on http://www.mod-pubsub.org/ in the future. I think I'll wait another week before packaging a new v0.96 tarball that includes this critical set of changes to the server. By the way, for my testing of this server fix, I added to cvs a short program mod_pubsub/python_pubsub/apps/publish.py that publishes events of the specified size to the pubsub server, using pubsublib.py . I think next up is an investigation of using ZODB for the event pool persistence. Will let you know when/if I learn anything...
