Today someone asked offline if there was a sample piece of code that will listen to a topic and publish to a file/directory in a filesystem -- and, conversely, can poll a filesystem and publish to a topic. The answer is that the mod_pubsub Perl server works quite well for this, out of the box. Every routed event will show up as a separate file in the Perl server's 'kn_events' directory on the filesystem of the machine on which the Perl server is running. With the KnowNow commercial server, you could create an off-host route from a topic on the KnowNow server to a topic on the Perl server to achieve this effect. With the mod_pubsub Python server, we haven't yet implemented the off-host route feature. So if you want to have routes from the Python pubsub server to the Perl pubsub server, off-host route support is a feature that needs to be added. fwiw, Adam ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: eBay Get office equipment for less on eBay! http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/711-11697-6916-5
