[Mtamazon] Recent problems with MTAmazon

I've been using MTAmazon for a year now, and I've recently been
getting intermittent errors that are completely breaking my site. The
error message I get is:

Build error in template 'Individual Entry Archive': Error in
<MTKeyValues> tag: Error in <MTIfKeyExists> tag: Error in <MTAmazon>
tag: Error reading XML content: syntax error at line 1, column 49,
byte 49 at F:/Perl/site/lib/XML/Parser.pm line 185 .

I would speculate that this is due to a change in the Amazon XML API,
but I'm not sure. Awhile back I had noticed this problem before, but
it seemed to stabilize and all was well. This time around I've had to
remove all references to MTAmazon in my site as it breaks commenting,
new entry posting, etc...

Has anyone else been having these problems? Also, if I might request a
feature, it would be nice if this error in the future didn't halt the
MT rebuild process. I would rather have an short error message (e.g.
mtamazon error) or blank spot in the rebuilt page rather than having
to edit all my templates to remove references to the plugin, which I
use heavily because it is such a great plugin :).
