I can now report as follows: using a bookmark to go to the website 
and 
http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_sx10-review/index.shtml 
, either with or without index.shtml on the end, is completely 
trouble-free and I can access everything as usual. Change sx10 to 
sx200 and the problem I have outlined immediately occurs. There must 
be *something* different about that page!

Still, time to get back to work I fear.
