	AFAIK, this can't be done.

	I agree with you that it's a problem.  One thing that I did is go to  
display preferences and set the minimum font size higher.  I had to  
play around with this a little to get it right.  It mucks up the  
design on some pages so type overlaps a little, but it works fairly  
well.

	Another thing I did is set a hot key for a particular zoom.  I have  
the 8 key set to zoom up 50 percent, so I just need to hit one key to  
get the page to zoom to a size that works for me most of the time.   
If you go -->Preferences -->Advanced -->shortcuts -->edit, you can  
find a key to modify to accomplish this.
