I can't recommend upgrading to you at this point. Opera 10 fixes some websites but overall I still find a fair bit of incompatibilities. Worse, I've found that certain emails from Flickr cause Opera to freeze quite reproducibly. I can't clean my inbox as a result. Just watching my message count pile higher as I wait for Opera to release an update that fixes the issue... my fear is that if a message can cause Opera to freeze, surely others can hit on that bug, as well. Hopefully I won't receive a critical email that causes Opera to freeze. The thought is rather unsettling. There are a few other seemingly sloppy bugs within Mail as well, none of which are critical but all of which are a bit confusing. HTML in email is a nice feature to finally have, though. Opera is hard at work on Unite, no doubt disappointed that they couldn't release it with Opera 10 as was seemingly originally planned. I'm sure that once Opera 10.10 comes out (which will have Unite) they'll quickly iron out the bugs I'm thinking of... until then, I must admit that I've been heavily considering switching to Apple Mail for my mail client. I'm not too keen on getting locked in to Apple's software, though. At least Opera works across a vast array of operating systems.
