By part way, I mean I didn't get the email set up as you describe. I tried  
un-installing and re-installing version 10.00 (when it was new) and never  
got the filters sorted out. Besides the install shuffle, I tried coping  
various files/directories to the new installation. (this maybe a hint)  
without any success. I have applied another more cent Opera upgrade. I'm  
on 10.10 now. I gave up and just started making NEW filters. and now I  
have to versions of Opera installed (9.64 and 10.10) I sometimes start the  
older version if/when I need some email from before the upgrades. It  
doesn't happen often.

About the hint, since Opera has from time to time choosen a NEW directory  
to install itself, this maybe why the ver 10 didn't catch up with my  
email. As to why this is so, I cannot guess. I think the first time I  
noticed this was around version 6. And I think I had similar problems back  
then too. But I was new to Opera and still learning how things worked. I  
might have just glossed over that snag.

I would like to suggest a utility for exporting email, notes, filters,  
bookmarks etc. I know some of these things are handled via the sync tool,  
and I use that. But the email and filters are not handled that way.  
Perhaps a dated email export option. So I can export email between dates  
xx/xx/xxxx and yy/yy/yyyy. And if you make a filter handleing tool, let it  
be capable enough to allow mass editing. Having looked thru my filters on  
two instances, I wish I could layer them(?) or build sub folders for them.  
ie (I'm a HAM) Club email and club member email would go into HAM folder  
but not into the same filter. Well you guys are pretty bright, I'm sure  
you know what I mean.

Anyway the point of the tool, is that I didn't KNOW I needed this level of  
filtering until later and now it looks like the only way to construct such  
a system is to start over. Not really a good idea. BUT if the tool could  
globally edit the filters... maybe something like that would be useful.

BTW my spell checker has died, or I have greatly increased my spelling  
skills (not likely). Did I de-select spell checker somehow?
