Fixing Labels

Greetings everyone,

After many years of using Opera Mail as a standard email program, I'm attempting to use it the way that I believe it's intended to be used (regarding filters, labels, and other methods of sorting). However, I've noticed something strange: for some of my labels, emails are listed that do not have the corresponding label. I can't change the label, either.

For example, I have a few emails under the "Important" label. The most recent emails do have the "important" label given to them, and if I change or remove the label then those emails disappear from the "Important" group. However, I have some emails from a few years ago that do not have a label and they are also listed under the "Important" group. If I try to change their label to important, nothing happens. If I change their label to anything else then they get that label's icon, but clicking the label region to bring up the label menu shows that the diamond is still by "no label" (and trying to change the label to "Important" causes them to have no label, again).

While I've used the example from my "Important" emails, this same behavior applies to emails that are in any label group and that lack that label. It's likely that these emails had the label at some point, and for some reason - perhaps during a version upgrade, or an operating system switch - the label was removed, but they weren't removed from the group.

Also, while these emails are all pretty old (2005 and earlier) it is not the case that emails from that time can't be labeled. Deleting the email will remove it from the label group, but undeleting it returns it to the label group.

Does anyone know how I can get those unlabeled emails out of the label groups, without deleting them?
