      This brings other questions.  Why were you
visiting csmonitor.com?  Are you using a two-way
firewall, like ZoneAlarm?

      I ask the question about two-way firewalls 
because a good one will detect a tracking cookie trying 
to send info back to another place.  The MS firewall is 
very good but is a one-way firewall in being able to 
block entry to your computer.

      ZoneAlarm Free is just as good as the MS firewall 
in blocking attempts to gain entry to your computer. 
ZoneAlarm also will block programs and files from 
gaining access to the Internet.  It does this by asking 
whether it is all right for any program to access the 
Internet, as well as accessing the Trusted Zone, and 
whether you want it.  This makes it much harder for 
foulups to happen; not impossible, but harder. 
ZoneAlarm keeps a log showing all the attempts made by 
programs both trying to enter and trying to gain 
outside access, with your response to its queries.

      Lastly, have you contacted the Webmaster of 
csmonitor.com to tell him or her about those cookies? 
The Webmaster may not be aware of their existence and 
may want to eliminate them from the site.
