So also I recommend you to upgrade to 10.50. About the settings: I think you do not need to copy any files, if you just want to upgrade (though some backup is never a bad idea). I have upgraded Opera many times just by running installation from newer package and I have never seen any loss of settings. However, I cannot confirm that for mail filters, because I never used them in versions prior to 10.50, though I still can confirm for multiple mail accounts and messages. Also, I have heard that Opera Software is releasing 10.51 soon and there will be many things fixed, so you might want to wait for it (so you won't get the bad feeling from the faults that came with 10.50, and it's fact that there arte some, because of quite hurried release of 10.50, which is said to be because of MS Ballot screen but that's another story :-D).
