downloading via Unite

Not for the first time, I've had the following problem. Download stops at around 98.5% but light stays on green. I stop the download and then resume it, upon which it starts again instead of resuming, negating half an hour's downloading... This is probably related to a problem in which the file suddenly appears to double in size, but if you stop the download and look in the folder the file is actually complete and will happily run all the way to the end.
