Thank goodness Katrina has beaten me to it. That means I can just say 
my Opera is now better than ever with loads of great features like 
Unite and a brilliant search facility that turns the whole page 
darker as long as your search string is in it. I too found the 
default removal of what is still termed the Main Menu very peculiar, 
but at least you now know how to get it back.

Another great innovation is user Javascript files (I say 'innovation' 
but maybe they're just new to me!).

And if you type into the url field 'opera:config' you get easy access 
to many options.
