Just now, I booted the machine and started looking through the hidden Opera files....it looked like it should work so I went to the Tools menu..../Mail and Chat Accounts was no longer grayed out. I checked inside and everything was configured and my mail works. Don't have a clue what was wrong before that it would not allow me to use mail.
