Opera 10: (not exactly) a complete GUI failure

Dear R developers
Yesterday I upgraded to Opera 10 and although overall the new
interface does look nicer, I was simply awed by the regression in the
qt3 menus: they became clunkier than those in Tcl/Tk.

The main issue was that, unlike in previous Operas, to access
sub-menus it was not sufficient to simply hover, it was necessary to
click. For example, to pass from File to Edit previously it sufficed
to click File and then hover on Edit and Edit unfolded. With 10, Edit
needed clicked.

Lucky me, I somehow noticed on the net that there were qt4 builds for
amd64. Although they weren't in the official Debian repository and
neither offered on the main download page, I managed to find them on
the opera ftp server. Installed the qt4 .deb, and since my
qtconfig-qt4 makes qt4 emulate the GTK+2 skin, I (finally!!) have my
Opera with GTK menus. Also considering the native GTK file chooser,
for me Opera 10 is effectively a GTK application. :)

Oh, and with qt4 no clicks needed; hovering suffices to access the
sub-menus. Otherwise, the in-line spell checker, several interface
fixes (for example, now one cannot DnD and create bookmarks on the
address bar; finally!), faster rendering including fixes on Facebook
and Gmail are all useful improvements. All in all, thank you for the
nice qt4 build.
