Hello, I have pointed out several times in the past, that for PPC Linux there is a wrong dependency of glibc 2.4 in the versions labeled as usable for Debian Etch and Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. These are still using glibc 2.3, so your glibc 2.4 linked versions will run on Debian Lenny, but no more on the still supported Debian Etch. If you can't believe, please double check the Debian online repository to verify the glibc version used by the different Debian distributions. In this regard Debian 4.0 Etch is resembling more Debian 3.1 Sarge, than to its successor Debian 5.0 Lenny. On the other hand you don't need to build with gcc 3, Debian Etch has still a gcc 4.1 version on board. But because there is no other version (also not in tar kind file), there is currently no chance to run Opera 10 on Debian Etch PPC. Please either link correctly against glibc 2.3 or make a fully static version of it. Thanks in advance, Stefan Urbat, longtime user of Opera on more seldom used Unix (kind) platforms like Solaris, PPC Linux or Mac OS X. -- Registered GNU/Linux-User #169380 on http://counter.li.org -- Opera-Linux: https://list.opera.com/mailman/listinfo/opera-linux More lists: https://list.opera.com/mailman/listinfo/ Unsubscribe: mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe
