Yeah, 'cause when I'm in hotels and such which have initial splash-screens where you have to authorize before they'll pass any traffic, I can't use my own server (and many times they won't pass any DNS traffic anyway). So in those cases I'll grab the DNS records from their connection, which end up in /etc/resolv.conf . It's then where the problem occurs, when the resolver has to deal with a new source. > Here's a test program, which looks up each name in turn.
