Yes, it worked most of the time, but only by sheer luck and bloody-mindedness. The old code was clunky, complex and exceedingly hard to understand and maintain. (And it probably has grown worse since the last time I touched it, which is several years ago by now) And yes, there are "too many changes". Completely new ecmascript engine, removal of the java loader, complete rewrite of platform UI code. But I suspect that there were no real alternatives. Hopefully things will get better now that we have a proper release to work from, with the major revolutions in place.
