Yes, printing has been more or less broken in opera for as long as I've
worked in this company.  It is frequently claimed that it is a high
priority issue to fix, but it never seems to get enough priority that
proper resources are assigned to it.

For my own part, I hardly ever print anything.  So it doesn't really
matter to me how broken printing is.  I wouldn't even notice that it was
broken.  Maybe nobody involved in prioritizing issues at opera prints
much and that is why it never gets fixed.  I don't know.

Oddly enough, the few times I have been required to print something out,
I believe opera has worked for me.


(Of course, sometimes broken printouts aren't caused by simple bugs in
the code, but by the user expecting a different layout strategy than
opera is using.  For example, correctly printing a photo gallery
requires a very different strategy than correctly printing a scientific
article.  On general web pages I suspect that making the correct choice
is a hard AI problem.  But I'm sure that's not opera's main problem.)
