I think Chromium comes close to Opera in terms of performance and functionality, but the thing is that it comes from Google: you never know when they decide to activate a bit of code to spy on you or upload sensitive data. As an alternative, you may want to look into Midori. But it is still in its early ages and is only slowly evolving to the ergonomics of Opera.
