slow theming in 12.00

Hello I would like to use the 12.00 theming that gets rid of the WM "bar" (using Xfce on Ubuntu Linux) and integrates WM-like buttons alongside the tabbar. However, I find that this theming slows down the UI. Is it possible to get rid of the WM "bar" while using the "10.6 Clean version" GTK theme?
